The Inaugural

2003 Syrah from Eleven Confessions Vyd

This wine is part of the Extended Barrel-Aged (EBA) program. It is called The Inaugural because it is the first Syrah completely from SQN's first estate vyd, the Eleven Confessions Vyd.

The Syrah label looks just like the Grenache label except it is missing the "G" in the star at the bottom.

5 bottles of The Inaugural Syrah were sold in a box set with 1 bottle of the 2003 The Inaugural Grenache

The Grenache is the one bottle on the right with a "G" near the bottom of the label.

Magnums and Double Magnums

As far as I know, no magnums or 3-liter bottles of The Inaugural Syrah or Grenache were made, but scroll down for two very large bottles.

A 12-liter bottle of The Inaugural Syrah, a Balthazar

This unique bottle was auctioned for charity at the Naples (Florida) Winter Wine Auction, January 2008. I've been told it sold for $220,000. It was Lot 57 and described as the only one of its kind.

A 15-liter bottle of The Inaugural Syrah, a Nebuchadnezzar

This bottle was sold privately at an Hart-Davis-Hart auction on 14 December 2013 for $50,190 (Lot 1946 on Day 2 of the auction).

In the first photo, this bottle is shown next to a standard 750ml Krug 2003 for size comparison.
