Cappellano Barolo 1947

Most of the 1947 bottles you see here are labeled "Super Barolo".
I have no idea why, but it seems it was a term used at the time.
("Super" was used in a G. Conterno ad in 1938 according to A Wine Atlas of the Langhe.)
There is also one of these "Super Barolo" labels on a bottle of 1935 Cappellano Barolo.
Here are some thoughts on this name from Italian linquist and wine blogger Jeremy Parzen.

Here is a photo of Augusto Cappellano holding a bottle of the 1947 "Super Barolo" in the winery, which certainly adds weight to its authenticity.

Here is a 1947 which is not a "Super Barolo".
